The Jewels Top It Off
It's not enough that the dress fits you to a tee or that you've fallen in love with a par of shoes but the accessories that you select must add to the theme you are working on and not do anything to detract from it. These days, the world of designer fashion accessories is becoming so important to achieve the over all effect of your ensemble. Whatever the accessory is - whether it be shoes, bag, belt, jewelry, gloves - it must fit. Style, color, material all play an important role of contributing to the whole. Let's take jewelry as an example. For some of the parties I have invitations to, I do need a trinket here or there to complete the effect I am going for. Take that party tomorrow night. Yes, It's business related bash and my dress is a little on the conservative side for me. I'm wearing what you might term an LBD - Little Black Dress. However, it's pretty flirty in it's own right and I need a little bauble to dress it up. The dress is a Milly 'Sundial Lace' Dress I'm thinking a silver bracelet of some kind. Let's look and see what's suitable. This is really very classy looking - three Judith Jack Marcasite Bangles. The thin marcasite-studded bangle bracelets are set from shiny sterling silver. Should do nicely Nordstrom's item # 209606 and the price is $150.
Something in gold too for that lovely ruby formal I'm wearing to the Vermont Wedding which is coming up next week really, the dress is a very unusual one for me and I just spotted a pretty gold necklace with a small heart pendant. Not like me either but I'll stay in theme I think and this should fit the bill very well. An Anna Beck Small Heart Necklace. The hand-dropped gold dots texture a small, heart-shaped pendant on a delicate chain. Nordstrom's Item # 205327 and the cost is $238 which is really inexpensive, I think. I guess I'll wear earrings that evening as well. Elsa Peretti "Full Heart" Earrings from Tiffany's at $375 would do really nicely and go extremely well with the necklace. Think I'll jog the Significant Other's elbow and suggest a wee gift for the holidays. Think I can do it? Now that I'm looking at Tiffany's, should I check the necklaces there as well Wait a sec., let's see what they offer! Well now, here's a sweet Paloma Picasso Double Loving Heart Pendant in 18ct gold for only $625. OK let's go for it and I'll be so sweet. I love parties so much! |
